Maybe in the most of the world (except Japan and Korea), there is coming this hardware revolution again.... many companies not in the hardware business, started releasing their hardware device...
Apple is in the hardware business... so iPhone shall not be discussed... but it is definitely a market expansion from personal computing to mobile computing...
Amazon just released its device.. Kindle.
What is it about? An electronic book reader.
Since I mentioned about Apple just now. I like Erik's way of putting it
The Kindle is essentially an iPod for books, with Amazon’s online book store taking on the role of iTunes.Rumors about Google going to have its GPhone was already cooled down. Nonetheless, Google is working on the open mobile OS and platform right now...
A lot of other companies working in the IT industries are also looking at bundle their solution with hardware stuff. (heard a lot but not examples right now)
Here is one more.... Bug Labs allowing engineers to create any digital device their minds drive them to, by playing simply around some different modules... (article at TechCrunch) there is a video there. do Check it out. =)
so... maybe with all these cool stuff coming along, the REST of the world will catch up with Japan soon... Perhaps, we are overtaking right now... slowly...
